BSn is a tiny R&D system house in Munich/Germany. Despite its size BSn is a full service, one-stop, source of "state-of-the-art" Open Information Management solutions. Our customers are Government Agencies, Research Institutes, Management Consultants and Financial Institutions.
BSn was founded in 1992 with the aim of developing and implementing Wide Area Information Management Solutions "As Easy to Use As The Telephone" to help manage the vast resources of information stored in corporations, government bodies, libraries and other institutions.
In order to service its markets BSn has entered into many strategic alliances and international cooperation agreements. BSn currently is authorized by/has strategic partnerships with Sun Microcomputer Corp (SMCC) Apple Computer Corp, Fujitsu Personal Systems (Poqet), as well as Andataco, Fiskars/Deltec Power Systems, Rank Xerox Advanced Printing Systems,...
BSn is an international team of multidisciplinary researchers from economics, mathematics, psychology, and recognized insurrance experts. BSn staff have previously been guests of many Universities in Scandanavia, Germany, UK and the US. and have held research posts at some of worlds leading "think tanks"; consulted among others, the OECD, Swedish Central Bank, the German Government,.., major corporations such as IBM, AT&T, Carl Zeiss Jena, the German National Railroad,... Although all BSn staff are in their 30s their experience in networking is quite substantial and dates as far back as the early 70s where one of our staff worked on the development of the original ARPA network.
BSn has addressed many international conferences and articles about/mentioning BSn technology have appeared in numerous European Magazines and Newspapers: Business Computing, Computer Persönlich, CT, Computer Week, FAZ, Personal Computer, Penplan Report, ... (we just don't have the time or resources to keep track and gave up years ago trying to). Individuals from BSn have themselves contributed to public debate with dozens of articles in several leading German news, culture and computer magazines. Although BSn's solutions are at the technological cutting edge we don't sell technology, we provide appropriate solutions to real world problems.
In this vain BSn's traditional emphasis is upon obsessive standards of quality, appropriate HCI, scalabilty, connectability, open systems/interoperability and "objective" cost/benefit (amortization on investment). BSn is a full service company: development, integration, sales, support, telephone hotline,... Through the use of BSn WAN technology, automatic trouble ticket generation system, logistic automation and high reliability technologies BSn is able to provide 2hr service cycles (on demand). Nearly all service can be done over the BSn corporate service WAN or the Internet. We are currently in transition to ISO 9000 and expect certification sometime this year.
BSn is involved in several international projects implementing WAN insurance, mediographic and library information systems for government, educational and financial institutions.
BSn enabling technologies are based upon OPEN standards (SGML [in German], Z39.50, CORBA) and designed to be scalable to meet changing needs.
"We practice what we preach."
While many companies talk about client/server, distributed objects, teleworking, lean business and quality assurance, BSn was designed from the start to not just develop solutions but to put these very same principles to the test in the development of its own corporate structure.
It is through these guiding principles and its firm international cooperation partnerships that BSn is able to leverage itself to meet the global mission critical demands of its customers.
In the short time since its inception BSn has initiated several pioneer projects, for example:
